Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders has condemned the good governance tour led by the Minister of Information and Communication, Mr. Labaran Maku, for the inspection of projects across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

In a statement on Tuesday, Executive Chairman of the Coalition, Debo Adeniran, who described the tour as a charade and another avenue to divert public funds into private pockets, said the tour was not in the interest of the masses.

He said, “This is another charade on the part of President Goodluck Jonathan and his men to cover up their ineptitude and divert taxpayers’ monies into private coffers under the guise of serving the interest of the Nigerian masses.

“What is good governance in the tour that would gulp billions of naira of our common patrimony that could have been used to provide infrastructural facilities for the Nigerian populace?

“Instead of delegating a group of over 120 persons to do projects inspection across the country, can’t the government think of a better way to inspect its projects?”
