The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has berated the Lagos State government over the seizure of 150 rams by the officials of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) from ram dealers at Ijora Olopa, Lagos.

The chairman of ram dealers, Alhaji Musa Sokoto, said the KAI officials seized the rams on Sunday morning without giving any reason for the action. Speaking further, Sokoto accused KAI of withholding 15 of 150 rams seized when he led some of his colleagues to the secretariat to secure their release.

Reacting to the news, the Coalition through its Executive Chairman, Comrade Debo Adeniran noted that the excesses of the KAI official is becoming unbearable and the brute force they employ to suppress and molest traders is uncalled for. PRESS STATEMENT
PROLONGED WRANGLING BETWEEN FG AND ASUU
What is it that could destroy the world of Nigeria students more than the “clash of the titans” that alarmingly occurs too frequently between the Federal Government and ASUU? On July 1, 2013, Nigerian University lecturers, under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of Universities [ASUU], began a nationwide indefinite strike. The decision of ASUU to embark on the industrial action, according to its President, Dr. Nasir Isa Fagge, was taken due to the failure of the Federal Government to implement a 2009 agreement and 2012 Memorandum of Understanding [MOU] it entered with the union. Book: Assessing state of Lagos

In spite of the visible infrastructural transformation noticeable in Lagos, since Governor Raji Fashola assumed office, Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, in a new book, Lagos Open Parliament, makes daring claims that will evoke political sentiments.

In a land of the blind, the ‘one-eyed’ man visibly becomes the centre of attraction, which is why the government of Lagos State under Babatunde Fashola, clearly ranks high in terms of democratic deliverables when weighed side by side with other state governments. But the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, CACOL, does not share this view as evident in the 236 page book, ‘Lagos Open Parliament: The true state of Lagos by Lagosians, which the group has compiled to illustrate how the government of Lagos State has been running in the last couple of years. Opponents of national conference are self-serving – CACOL

Hallmark Wenesday, October 09, 2013

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has berated some Nigerians and groups for kicking against the convening of the national conference.

Among those who kicked against it are the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The CNPP had urged the National Assembly to halt the proposed national conference, describing it as a journey to nowhere, while Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu described it, as a ‘Greek gift’ whereas the NLC said it is diversionary and wasteful. AIR CRASHES- CACOL BERATES AVIATION MINISTER

                                                     PRESS RELEASE
The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders [CACOL] has expressed its displeasure over the statement credited to the Minister of Aviation, Mrs Stella Oduah, who described the recurring air accidents in the country as ‘God’s will that are inevitable’.
Mrs. Oduah made the submission while fielding questions from State House correspondents on investigations into the Thursday Lagos crash, the safety of the nation’s airspace and the suspension of Dana Air’s operations, among other issues.
While reacting to a comment that the latest crash had made nonsense of government’s much-talked about reforms in the aviation sector, the minister said, “We do not pray for accidents but they are inevitable. But we will continue to do everything to ensure that we do not have accidents. But an accident is an act of God.” Continue reading “AIR CRASHES- CACOL BERATES AVIATION MINISTER”
